The picturesque Val Comelico has a rich cultural heritage, over 800 years of history as can be seen from its fine ancestral homes, antique buildings, and churches full of artistic treasures. “La Stua” is an impressive ancient dam, built on the Padola River and dates back to 1521, other traces of bygone times can be seen in the many old wooden hay-barns dotted around the valley. In fact agriculture and wood felling were very important resources for the villagers. Some of the oldest “Ladin” traditions can be discovered inside the local museums.
